Wil Wheaton responds to the recent news that Star Trek: Picard season 3 will include a huge Next Generation reunion, but notably without Wesley Crusher. Currently, the second live-action of Paramount + star trek The series is developing its long-awaited season 2. After being delayed by the coronavirus pandemic, Picard Season 2 premiered in early March and quickly plunged Jean-Luc (Patrick Stewart) and his current crew into a new time travel adventure. So far, fans have been treated to returning appearances from TNG characters Q (John De Lancie) and Guinan (Whoopi Goldberg), but evidently the series has been celebrating its biggest event for its final season.

VIDEO PROJECTION OF THE DAY

As revealed earlier this week, Star Trek: Picard Season 3 will feature almost all of the next generationThe main cast of . Jonathan Frakes, LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, Gates McFadden, Marina Sirtis and Brent Spiner will have major roles in the season, which has been confirmed to be Chopdit is the last star trek Fans immediately raved about the news, but many noted that something was missing from the announcement. Not long after the news was made public, Wheaton acknowledged Picard‘s next meeting in a post on their website. He shared his excitement at the prospect of seeing his TNG the family get together again, and he also admitted that he was surprised by the number of people who were upset by Wesley’s apparent absence. Wheaton also hinted that his lack of involvement was not entirely his idea. He wrote:

I’ve been reading the internet, as have you, and I see that many of my fellow nerds are just as excited to see the cast of TNG back together as I am.

I have also seen a LOT of people, far more than I ever imagined, expressing dismay that Wesley is not a part of this.

I share some of your sadness, for my own reasons, but I prefer to focus on how special it will be to see my family together again and how wonderful it will be to talk to them about it in the prep room. .

Wil Wheaton as Wesley Crusher in Star Trek The Next Generation

Wheaton also included a scene he wrote himself imagining Wesley’s reunion with Picard. The exact reason why he won’t be able to repeat his Wesley Crusher in Star Trek: Picard Season 3 may never see the light of day, but it’s clear there’s more to the story. Still, Wheaton’s decision to focus on the positives is admirable. As he pointed out, he is still inside the star trek family with his position as host of The Prepared Room. That will allow you some involvement with Picard season 3, even if it’s not how fans might have anticipated.

Wesley’s story inside the star trek the franchise is quite loaded. Fans did not respond kindly to his introduction, and it even led Wheaton to resent the property for a time. Hopefully past vitriol isn’t the reason Wheaton is being left out Next Generation meeting. It could also be that scheduling conflicts are to blame, or that Wesley just didn’t fit into the story. Picard you want to count. Perhaps the former Starfleet cadet will get a nod or two, especially since his mother Beverly (McFadden) will play a major role in upcoming episodes. More information on this subject could emerge soon, but for now, Wheaton’s response is all fans will get.
