After a power outage caused by very high heat levels at Universal Studios Hollywood, guests were trapped inside the Harry Potter and Transformers attractions.
After a power outage hit universal studios hollywoodguests got stuck in Harry Potter Y transformers rides Universal Studios Hollywood in Los Angeles, California is one of the best theme parks for movie fans (except maybe for Disney). The park offers rides and experiences that are inspired by some of the most iconic moments in the movies, from Jurassic Park, for men in black, for Eastern Time, and of course the recently added Harry Potter World, which transports fans to the magical world of Hogwarts. Universal can be a truly magical place for all movie fans. That is, of course, as long as the power stays on.
If there’s one thing California is known for that doesn’t have to do with Hollywood magic, it’s the heat — heat like the one the state experienced this week, which raised the temperature dramatically. Temperatures at Universal peaked at 96 degrees, however, in other areas like Long Beach, temperatures reached a whopping 100 degrees. Naturally, these temperatures mean that everyone, everywhere had their air conditioners on, which is not a surprise at all. Unfortunately, this led to a surprise for a few others who had decided to spend a day at Universal Studios.
has been reported by Deadline that Universal lost power yesterday, allegedly due to an overloaded electrical grid. Eleven park visitors found themselves trapped in the transformers ride, prompting the Los Angeles County Fire Department to rescue them. In the end, it took almost two hours and 15 minutes to get the guests out of the ride, although no injuries were reported. It has also been reported that a Harry Potter The trip was affected, although it is not known who or how many guests were affected.
While this was certainly a less-than-desirable experience for the Universal guests who found themselves caught up in the games, luckily they all seem to have made it. While amusement park rides do indeed break with people on them from time to time, it’s not something that anyone thinks will actually happen to them. It is possible that these guests experienced some of the true emotion that the characters in transformers it would have felt right in the middle of classic Michael Bay action scenes.
Thankfully, all’s well if it ends well, though Universal will likely take more precautions against potential power outages in the future. Since the incident, no further details have been released about anything else in the park that has been affected, but more news may emerge as the park reopens. Until then, perhaps the best thing for moviegoers would be to settle for watching the films on which the attractions are based, rather than heading to universal studios hollywoodAt least until the heat wave passes.
