Liverpool star Mohamed Salah on Friday provided fresh insight into his ongoing contract negotiations with the club.
The subject of the future of the Egyptian international Salah has, of course, come back to the fore in recent times.
This comes with the former AS Roma standout, in the midst of another stellar campaign to date, yet to agree to terms to extend his contract at Anfield beyond the summer of 2023.
The initial assumption in the media when negotiations between the two sides opened was that a renewal was some sort of formality, but this has since been shown to be not the case.
Salah, in turn, has even been targeted for a potential summer exit, with a host of European football’s biggest clubs known to be keeping a close eye on the situation.
Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports on Friday afternoon, it came as no surprise when the subject of his contract negotiations with Liverpool was raised with Salah himself.
However, the 29-year-old was keen to keep his cards close to his chest, rather than shift focus to the crucial couple of months awaiting Jurgen Klopp and company. in the filming of the season.
“I talk to the manager, I know my job very well,” Salah explained. “I am almost the first to arrive and the last to leave. I know what I’m doing. I’m just focusing on the team. That is the most important thing: to win trophies for this club”.

Salah, of course, is expected to feature early on this weekend, when Liverpool make the trip to the Etihad, for what has been widely labeled a Premier League ‘title decider’ with Manchester City.
As it stands, the two teams are separated by just one point in the race for the English top-flight title, with Pep Guardiola’s champions boasting of the lead in first place.
