Now is a better time than ever to purchase an additional Funko Pop. With the recent celebration of National Pet Day, the company partnered with the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) to raise funds through a new line of Pops. with the beloved pets from the classic movies, Return to the future Y The Wizard of Oz. This special collection will be available for pre-order starting October 4.
Each collectible purchased in the “Pops! With Purpose” line will result in a $10 donation to the ASPCA. The collectibles will also come with a designated decal and art box. Dad! With Purpose will feature exclusive figures from Return to the future Einstein (or “Einie”) and Dorothy’s plucky little dog, Toto, from by Victor Fleming 1939 film The Wizard of Oz.
CEO of Funko, Andrew Perlmutterspoke about the mission of the collaboration, stating:
“The ASPCA does such important work in its fight to prevent animal cruelty, which is a cause near and dear to the hearts of many of our employees. When fans purchase their favorite Pops! with Purpose mascot figures, They are showing not only their fandom but their desire to help the ASPCA in its anti-cruelty mission, which we are honored to be a part of.”
Rebecca FrommerASPCA Director of Associated Causes and Events also issued a statement on the importance of collaboration, stating:
We are grateful for Funko’s support of our efforts to protect and care for animals across the country. For every dad! With the Purpose ASPCA statuette purchased, the ASPCA will receive a donation to support our commitment to help vulnerable animals in need.
Funko has worked hard to emphasize the importance of community involvement since it began its Funko Cares Program in 2018 and donated millions of dollars through monetary and production profits. Dad! With Purpose was created in 2021 to further such an important mission, having partnered with reputable organizations like Make A Wish, It Gets Better Project and more.
The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was founded in 1866 in New York, NY. Since its inception, the organization has striven to promote and support media to educate the masses about the problem of animal cruelty, as well as take action to protect animals from harm at the hands of humans. They have created community-led programs as well as statutory initiatives to create and protect animal rights and welfare throughout the United States.
