Fans have taken to social media to praise Phil Foden after his role in Manchester City’s win over Atletico Madrid.
Manchester City would receive Atlético de Madrid at the Etihad on Tuesday night.
The two European powerhouses met in the first of two Champions League quarter-final matches. The second leg will be played at the Wanda Metropolitano on Wednesday 13the of April.
To reach the quarter-finals, Manchester City beat Sporting, while Atlético edged out Manchester United.
As a result, the Sky Blues seemed to be clear favorites for this game.
And Manchester City, unsurprisingly, utterly dominated possession with Atletico more than happy to sit back, absorb the pressure and then try to hammer the home team on the counter. This is something the Spanish had some luck with during the opening stages of the 45 seconds in particular.

However, Manchester City would eventually break the deadlock when substitute Phil Foden brought in Kevin De Bruyne, who outplayed Jan Oblak:

After setting up De Bruyne for the key goal less than two minutes after coming on and continuing to cause problems for Atletico, fans have been raving about Foden on social media.
