Crystal Palace eyeing deals for Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Cheick Doucouré

Capital return? Crystal Palace weigh up summer move for Aaron Wan-Bissaka amid wider transfer business

Mid-table outfit Crystal Palace look to continue the progression on the pitch shown under current boss and former Arsenal icon Patrick Vieira this season as they begin to sound out their summer transfer plans that could feature the return of a prodigal son.

Born in Croydon and a product of the Palace academy setup, England international right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka could be in line for a return to his old stomping grounds after the Eagles reportedly are weighing up a move for the Red Devil outcast given the impending arrival of Erik ten Hag, according to BBC Sport journalist Alex Howell.

Wan-Bissaka has featured just five times in the last fourteen Premier League matches for United and is not thought to be considered as one of the core cadre of players that Ten Hag will look to form a nucleus for his United rebuild, which would suit Palace to the ground as the club looks for players that could suit matters at Selhurst Park while coming into a starting role from the outset of his arrival.

It was suggested that any potential move by Palace for their former player would be a loan, which could help the club save cash to mobilize in a move for another summer target in standout Racing Club de Lens midfielder Cheick Doucouré.

As reported by Goal France, the Malian international is attracting interest from both England and Germany in the run-up to the transfer window after establishing himself as a core piece at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis having featured in 126 matches for the club since he joined in 2018 from hometown outfit Real Bamako, and is currently viewed as one of the brightest in his position in Ligue 1 this season.

Palace would face competition from Bundesliga outfit VfL Wolfsburg to secure his services, however, with Die Wolfe looking to add to their central core that already features Xaver Schlager, Yannick Gerhardt, Maximilian Arnold, and Belgian youngster Aster Vranckx.

But with standout performer Conor Gallagher set to return to Chelsea in the summer, Palace pushing for new blood in the center of the park should be viewed as a top priority.
