Casemiro takes aim at Real Madrid fans over Gareth Bale treatment

Casemiro criticizes the Real Madrid fans for the treatment of Gareth Bale

Real Madrid midfielder, Casemiro, went on to defend his teammate Gareth Bale today, behind the backs of the club’s fans who once again made clear their frustration with the Welshman last weekend.

For those who don’t know, Bale, the band man, made a rare appearance in Real colors on Saturday night.

With Carlo Ancelotti’s troops two goals in favor in a La Liga encounter with Getafe, the 32-year-old was introduced from the bench for the last fifteen minutes of the game.

Bale’s introduction, however, was greeted with a chorus of whistles and jeers at the Bernabéu, as the home fans in attendance made it abundantly clear that they remain firmly against his presence in the club’s first-team setup:

The Welsh veteran himself, as shown in the footage above, paid no attention to the supporters in question, laughing at the whistles as he made his way onto the pitch.

However, one Carlo Ancelotti teammate who failed to see the funny side of the situation was Casemiro.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Real’s midfield enforcer focused on Los Blancos’ latest backlash against Bale.

And the Brazilian international did not hold back in his response, revealing his opinion that, by targeting the full-back, the fans are disrespecting not only Bale, but also the rest of the Merengues players, as well as the club as a whole. :

“When they whistle a player, they whistle us all. I disagree when this happens.

“We have to support him. I don’t like how Bale was whistled the other day because he is a historic player for this club.

“When you whistle at a player like that, you whistle at the history of this club. If we are all together, we are all together.

“I want the Bernabéu to make my hair stand on end. We have the support of the public.”

retirees clash

Casemiro’s take on the Bale situation, of course, comes just 24 hours after Real Madrid turned their attention to continental affairs, in a meeting with Premier League giants Chelsea.

A week after putting them to the sword at Stamford Bridge, Ancelotti and company. will host the Blues in the Spanish capital, for the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final between the two clubs.

Tuesday’s hosts are currently in possession of a 3-1 lead, no doubt confident in their chances of booking a place in the final-4 of the competition thanks to the even greater brilliance of Karim Benzema.
