A social media post by Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday caused a stir among the fanbase of Premier League rivals Arsenal.
The Gunners and Seagulls, of course, met head to head yesterday afternoon, in a Premier League showdown at the Emirates.
The Brighton visitors, in the end, came out of the clash with an upset victory, making the most of an entirely lackluster performance by Mikel Arteta’s hosts to notch their first treble since early February.
The Gunners are behind!
Leandro Trossard’s brilliant finish has Brighton 1-0 up at The Emirates. Arsenal had a goal disallowed just before the break via VAR.

And, as mentioned above, 24 hours after the clash, Brighton – or at least those in charge of the club’s social media accounts – still seem unwilling to let Arsenal live through Saturday’s result.
This comes with the South Coast outfit having a photo revealed, highlighting developments in the immediate aftermath of one of their two goals in North London.
In the background, two members of Graham Potter’s squad can be seen walking away to celebrate.
More notable, however, is the grounded Ben White figure, looking utterly desolate in the midst of what turned out to be a difficult week for everyone associated with Arsenal:

‘Disrespect’
So why has the image garnered so much attention?
Well, White, of course, departed from Brighton last summer, swapping Amex for Emirates in a big-money move that has been talked about.
In turn, many, particularly those of the Arsenal persuasion, have revealed their respective takes that the post was intended to be some sort of dig at the former Seagulls star, with only a taste of the resulting backlash on Twitter being shown below:
Easy, but I swear Ben White basically paid for your club’s new training ground. &!Have you never disrespected the club?

Ben White did you 50m and he’s been very nice and flattering to your club since he got here.

You didn’t have to include Ben White. he was your own player so i fixed it for us goons. pic.twitter.com/PZm6cCKayt

Arsenal deserve the jokes, no doubt about that, but what has White, the player, said or done to disrespect his club?

Ben White was respectful to you, this tweet is really shocking.

Come on, it’s not like he left on bad terms.

Literally not necessary at all.

disrespect is unreal

Why would you be so mean to your former player who didn’t force his move and for whom you got a more than deserved transfer fee?
