Bissouma, Rice, Kane and Timber top Ten Hag wanted list

Incoming Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag reportedly has four ambitious transfer targets this summer, but a sharp cut in his budget may seriously undermine his plans.

The Red Devils are preparing for one of the most crucial summers in their history. With Ten Hag’s appointment due to be officially confirmed next week, plans are already underway behind the scenes. The Dutchman’s first mission will be to complete his back room team. But after that, all attention will be on which players United decide to buy and sell.

To that end, a report recently suggested that There were up to 11 players who will see the door this summer.

And it looks like the departures of several of those stars will be key to Ten Hag’s plans. In fact, the daily mail reports the Dutchman could see his budget cut to just £20m this summer should he fail to qualify for the Champions League.

How are things, manchester united they currently sit a disappointing seventh in the Premier League table. That position alone may be enough to secure a place in the UEFA Conference League.

United currently sit six points behind Tottenham in fourth place, with Arsenal three points behind. West Ham sit just above United on goal difference.

And missing out on the Champions League will have a severe impact on United’s spending plans this summer.

In fact, it is widely documented that the earnings of both the Conference League and the Europa League are severely limited compared to the riches of the Champions League.

Ten Hag may need to generate cash from sales

As such, Ten Hag faces the very real possibility of having to generate its own transfer income.

United can, of course, save themselves huge fortunes in wages if Cristiano Ronaldo and Paul Pogba leave. Both are two of United’s top earners. However, Pogba is likely to walk away for free. reports of a big new deal don’t seem to have gone over well.

And even if they do manage to get rid of other stars, it’s unlikely to generate the kind of funding that Ten Hag will require.

In addition, the Mail claims the Dutchman has given United bosses a list of four players to sign.

First on his list is Tottenham striker Harry Kane. However, he alone is likely to cost United a £150m fee. A cheaper alternative could be Darwin Núñez, that said. To that end, Thursday transfer gossip he claims that United can do it thanks to a secret weapon.

Ajax defender Jurrien Timber is believed to be at the top of Ten Hag’s target list for a new defender.

The 20-year-old is the latest star to roll off the Ajax production line, with a £40m fee said to be needed.

Bissouma could become United’s new general midfielder

The new United boss is also looking to add more muscle and knowledge to his midfield.

He reportedly has a number of potential targets, with West Ham’s Declan Rice topping the list.

His signing, however, would not come cheap, with David Moyes recently revealing his record British valuation of £150m.

Leeds’ Kalvin Phillips is another option. However, getting it away from Elland Road seems like a formidable task.

Aurelien Tchoumameni from Monaco is also being considered. However, his £50m asking price, coupled with a lack of Premier League experience, means signing him can be seen as a bit of a gamble.

Instead, United could well move on for Brighton’s Yves Bissouma.

The Malian has just one year left on his contract this summer and the Seagulls look ready to sell.

Priced at least £45 million, Brighton recently announced record losses for the fiscal year and appear ready to sell.

Aston Villa are also interested, but any firm approach from United to Bissouma is sure to put them in the driving seat.
