Arsenal told striker target's price ahead of potential summer move

Arsenal would have to shell out a massive 80 million euros, breaking their own transfer record in the process, should they want to bring Victor Osimhen to north London from Napoli this summer.

The Gunners are on the hunt for at least one, and in all likelihood, two strikers this summer, with both Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah seeing their contracts run out at the end of this season, and the pair showing little inclination to remain at The Emirates beyond that.

And, as a result, they have been linked with a move for Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus, who could come in and offer versatility both on the flanks and through the middle when required.

However, there is still the feeling that they are on the hunt for a more physical option too.

That man could be Napoli’s Osimhen, who has been in great goalscoring form when fit for the Italian outfit this season. The Nigerian striker has found the net on 12 occasions in the Italian top flight, as well as providing 4 assists.

And, as per CBS Sport, the Italians could be willing to part ways with their forward, provided that they receive an offer above 80 million euros, the fee which they paid for him in 2020 to bring him to Italy from Lille.

Edu outlines Arsenal’s transfer plans

Meanwhile, Arsenal technical director Edu has hinted that the summer transfer window could be less frenzied than their last one, in which six players arrived, with the Gunners instead looking to sign one or two key players.

‘We’re going to focus on signing one or two players,’ he told ESPN.

‘After last summer’s revolution, we need the next step.

‘We’ve [got] our strategy ready.’

While most of the business last summer has proved successful, there will need to be continued good business should Arsenal want to make the race for the top 4 less heart-wrenching next season.
