The Arsenal faithful flooded social media on Monday night, to single out two players in particular for widespread criticism following the club’s meeting with Crystal Palace.
Of course, Mikel Arteta’s troops returned to action a short time ago.
In their first outing at the back of the international break, the Gunners traveled via London for a Premier League derby showdown with Crystal Palace.
The clash, as the case with virtually all of the club’s remaining games during the final weeks of the campaign will prove, marked a crucial one for Arsenal, after the capital side had been overtaken by north London rivals Tottenham. , in the top 4 on Sunday.
However, when all was said and done at Selhurst Park, the visitors for the night simply did not step forward in any way, shape or form, en route to a downright embarrassing defeat.
Goals from Jean-Philippe Mateta, Jordan Ayew and Wilfried Zaha guided Crystal Palace to an eventual 3-0 triumph, on a night to remember for Eagles boss and Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira.

“Difficult to choose who was worse”
On the back of the full-time whistle ending proceedings in South London, it should therefore come as no surprise to hear that those of the Arsenal persuasion are absolutely up in arms.
On a night in which the club’s Champions League hopes took a considerable hit, a host of Gunners stars battled it out in a very, very important way.
Gabriel Magalhaes and Emile Smith Rowe appeared to be off the pace, while Mikel Arteta had no choice but to hook substitute left-back Nuno Tavares at half-time after the Portuguese suffered nothing short of a nightmare in the first 45 minutes.
However, as mentioned above, neither have been singled out for the level of criticism from Arsenal supporters as two members of the club’s midfield.
The players in question? Thomas Partey and Martin Odegaard.
Amidst the condemnation directed at the pair after the game, both Gunners midfielders have seen their performances labeled “disgraceful”, with just a few of the widespread negative reactions on social media shown below:

Odegaard has been absolutely terrible in every way today, you hate to see it.
And another Partey turnover and injury leading to a goal to add insult to injury.
